This policy explains how Voygo ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal data when you use Voygo, and your rights over it. We are the data controller for this data.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, and optionally date of birth, sex, and profile photo.
• Trip data: trips you create or join, your travel preferences, availability, votes, and suggestions.
• Technical data: basic information needed to run the app, such as your app settings (e.g. light/dark theme) stored on your device.
• Notifications: if you turn them on, a device token so we can send you updates about your trips.
• Usage data: which features you use in the app (for example creating a trip or completing your preferences), so we can understand and improve how Voygo works. This stays in our own database, is never sold or shared with advertisers, and is not used to track you across other apps or websites.

How we use it

We use your data to provide and run the service: to create your account, let you join and coordinate trips, generate destination, area, flight, and accommodation suggestions for your group, show your group who has done what, and send you notifications about your trips if you turn them on.

Location

If you grant permission, Voygo uses your device's location to suggest nearby departure airports. This happens on your device only. We do not receive, store, or share your location, and you can turn the permission off at any time in your device settings.

Legal basis

We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the app), on the basis of your consent where you provide optional details, and for our legitimate interests in operating and improving Voygo.

Sharing within your group

Voygo is collaborative. Other members of a trip you join can see your name, profile photo, and your contributions to that trip (such as your votes, availability, and suggestions). Only share trips with people you trust.

Service providers

We use trusted third parties to run Voygo, who process data on our behalf, including:

• Supabase: secure hosting, database, and authentication;
• AI providers (e.g. Anthropic): to generate travel recommendations and to screen profile photos for safety;
• email delivery (e.g. Resend): to send account and trip emails;
• push notification delivery (e.g. Expo and Apple): to send the notifications you enable;
• travel and mapping data providers (e.g. for flight prices, weather, and place lookup).

When you follow a link to book, you leave Voygo and the provider's own privacy policy applies.

Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must keep some information to meet legal obligations.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you can request access to your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, or ask for a copy. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

International transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside your country. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by law.

Children

Voygo is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
